Crafting in StoneAge 2 Edit

In StoneAge 2, players are able to craft various items, both consumable and equippable, through a process referred to as "Combining".Combinations are achieved through your Pals Combine skill, which can be found in the main action list for each Pal. Open the main menu (big button in the top left corner), click on Pal to bring up the list of Pals available to you, and select a Pal from the list. That list will then show actions you can take regarding your Pal, with the third from the bottom being the Combine skill. Clicking this will change the Pal actions menu to the Combine interface.

Simply take any 2 items, put one in each of the two boxes at the top of the Combine interface, and click Start Combination. Each attempt at combining will consume 10 points of 'Guts' from the Pal performing the task. Your chance of success will depend on your Pals Spirit value, and most importantly the specific items you attempt to combine. A failed combination will return 1 of the materials used, or a Lv1 material of it's type. You can tell whether a combination was successful based on how your Pal reacts after you click 'Start Combination'. The Pal will either display the 'frustrated' black scribble speech bubble (meaning the combination failed), or they will jump up and down happily (this is considered a successful combination).
For some combinations it can be difficult to tell whether the combination was a true success. Sometimes when combining Materials, although the Pal reacts as though the combination was successful and you create a new item, the item you create will be of the same Material catagory and level, but with a different name. These new items might be a higher quality version, giving you a better chance of successfully combining that item with something else, however this has not been proven yet.

Combining items of the exact same item catagory, level, and name (keeping in mind most material catagories have 2 forms for at least the first level material, with a different name), if successful, will produce either the second (and possibly higher quality?) material type of that level, or a material type of the next level, as shown in the examples below:

Combining 2 Spirit's Stones of the same element type successfully will create an accessory that you can equip and use in combat. To cast Spirit spells. With a created stone equipped, you can check the spell it casts in the Spirit menu, from the main menu. (big button in the top left corner)

The last one appears to be considered a 'failed' combination, however the produced meat is worth more than the materials to vendors.

Note about combinations: Sometimes you get same object as a result ie: garlic and garlic = just 1 garlic
and Sometimes you get rotten cabbage from food combinations .. this does not mean those combinations
are not valid . it does mean your combining Pal may not have enough Spirit for the combination or Mood
was not 100 % .. I am still trying to determine all this before reset .. Xeander
It appears first level combine requires 20 Spirit ... second level combine (two first level combined products)requires 30  
spirit .. combining two second level products requires 40 spirit .. my current limit is 46 Spirit with highest Pal
failures on high items indicates 50 Spirit maybe required
Note: the spirit levels are not set in stone.. however high rates of failure will occur if spirit minimums are not met
by the combining Pal
